You are welcome to download any of these for your personal use. If you want to make multiple copies or use the material in some other way, please contact James Keeler jhk10 cam. This course is aimed at those who are already familiar with using NMR on a day-to-day basis, but who wish to deepen their understanding of how NMR experiments work and the theory behind them. It is assumed that you are familiar with the concepts of chemical shifts and couplings, and are used to interpreting proton and carbon spectra. It is also assumed that you have at least come across simple two-dimensional spectra such as COSY and HMQC and perhaps may have used such spectra in the course of your work. Similarly, some familiarity with the nuclear Overhauser effect NOE will be assumed. That NMR is a useful for chemists will be taken as self evident.

This text is aimed at people who have some familiarity with high-resolution NMR and who wish to deepen their understanding of how NMR experiments actually 'work'. This revised and updated edition takes the same approach as the highly-acclaimed first edition. The text concentrates on the description of commonly-used experiments and explains in detail the theory behind how such experiments work. The quantum mechanical tools needed to analyse pulse sequences are introduced set by step, but the approach is relatively informal with the emphasis on obtaining a good understanding of how the experiments actually work.

Lectures by James Keeler
The goal of this book is to help non-expert users make the most effective possible use of NMR Spectroscopy for structure elucidation of natural products and other organic compounds. Instead, the focus is on practical aspects of using NMR for structure elucidation. The book includes detailed, specific, recommendations for optimum parameters for acquiring and processing 1D 1 H and 13 C spectra and the most widely used 2D spectra.
